This thread is for epitaphs --or the inscriptions on graves-- from the 16th and 17th century. If you find any epitaphs, please post them here. State where you got them, please. If from a website, please post a link. These may help you with an epitaph for your own Zombie characters.

From the Hocus Pocus movie:

Billy Butcherson's Grave.
Here Lyes Y Body of
M. William Butcherson
Died Y 1st of May 1693
LOST SOUL

Sarah Sanderson found this one, also from the Hocus Pocus movie:

EMILY BINX'S GRAVESTONE:

Here lyes ye body of Emily Binx
Beloved daughter & sister
Died ye 31 of October, 1693
Sweet Emily taken from us most unnaturally.
Rest and waite for us in a world beyond.

Y; ye = The
M = Master
Lyes = lies
Waite = wait

Funny Epitapths

You might enjoy these. This is a collection of funny epitaphs I've collected on my Drak Pack site.

Drak Pack Headquarters --REBORN!

I have given credit to where I got the epitaphs on the page. At the end of the page are a few links to other sites with epitaphs.
